It’s a fascinating look at how the editors and publishers really think of publishing books translated from other languages. I agree with how there is too little international literature being published and read in America right now, I guess we have our work cut out for us.

Should I translate
我在那里为谁过着他们不知道的童年。
as “Whose childhood was I living in? A childhood that no one knows. “
OR
“Whose unknown childhood was I living in?”
The second version is more succinct.
